décadence

2019.12

A world where everything is old but alive.

A mode born by depriving the essential concept .

We present to think and interpret the essence of things in the present age when new things are created and unnecessary things are lost.

A decadent space is created when the buildings created for people to live are thrown away and become obsolete and decay. The space has a feeling of fatigue that does not match our lives. However, there is a panic-like beauty in that space that cannot be artificially created, and I feel a world where everything is old but potentially alive. If no human intervention is done, the ground of the building will collapse and the columns and beams will be exposed. The walls and floor collapse and return to the soil. And the plants grow. In the space where people have lost their lives, a new scale floats from the point of returning to the essence.

The space where the past and the present are mixed makes us feel the possibility of reconstructing the past and creating a new style. The past escapes, disappears, cannot be grasped, and cannot be reproduced. It is only words and memories that I recognize the past. However, this space is a poor figure, slightly revisiting the past and appealing to me and questioning the presentness.
